We did happen to find some great airport food at Gordon Biersch, albeit unhealthy crap. Oh, it was wonderful. We had garlic french fries and a huge spinach salad with bacon and chicken. It also had some tomatoes that didn't taste too bad and yummy bits of red onion. Mom put it wonderfully when she said that it wasn't over flavored or under flavored.
And so we finally left Raleigh to land in the wonderful JFK airport which, after RDU, seems like a theme park, complete with the overpriced slurpees and flashy colors.
I wonder why we didn't wait to eat until JFK...?
Heck what's a little delay when you are in the transformed RDU Terminal 2!?! The place is GORGEOUS! Plenty of news stands - that don"t sell newspapers like they used to Libby informed me- but magazines. Magazines have lots of pictures and small articles, perfect for our limited attention spans. After all our REAL reading material is being saved for the beach. Gotta go get me a National Inquirer!
